Global Fund for Widows (GFW) held their 5th Annual Fundraising Gala at Egyptian restaurant, Casa La Femme. The Annual Gala helps GFW continue their mission to empower widows and female heads of households to overcome poverty through skills-based training, job creation, and micro-finance. A VIP cocktail hour allowed guests to meet and mingle with Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative, UK Mission to the UN, Peter Wilson, CMG while getting early access to the silent auction and NARS Lipstick Lounge. Mobile bids increased as all guests arrived and were able to check out the auction items, like Ron Donovan custom made shoes. After dining on traditional Egyptian cuisine, guests heard keynote speeches from Heather Ibrahim-Leathers, Co-Founder of GFW, author Kristin Meekhof, and Ambassador Peter Wilson. Brook Hazleton, President of Christie's Americas, presided over the live auction that included exclusive items like an Inspirato Membership and 2 tickets to the Vivienne Tam 2017 Fashion Show.
