Ocean Generation and UNOPS launched their partnership during "Creating for a Cause", a cocktail reception at ONE UN during the Ocean Conference in New York City. Guests were given a glimpse at the effects of pollution in our oceans through a 56ft projection map featuring one of the worst culprits, plastic straws. To combat the 500 million straws used every day in America, Ocean Generation gave each guest #TheLastStraw they will ever use. Designed to be used as cutlery, this stainless-steel straw was used throughout the night to enjoy Blue Lychee Martinis. Keynote speakers included Jude Ower, Playmob CEO and Ocean Generation Gaming Advisor; Grete Faremo, Executive Director of UNOPS; Natalia Vodianova, Supermodel and Philanthropist; and more. Ocean Generation Founder, Daisy Kendrick, gave a passionate speech about the state of our oceans, motivating all in attendance to be a part of the solution. Jodie Abacus took the stage to get people moving, debuting “We Are The Oceans” before playing a short set of his original songs. H&M’s exclusive exhibit of their BIONIC® Dress from the Conscious Exclusive collection showed guests sustainability is possible.
